Since the start of the recession a few years back people have been feeling the pinch where money is concerned and as a result the housing market has suffered as people are choosing not to move house as they are either struggling to obtain a mortgage or they would rather stay in their current home so as not to take on extra debt. The problem with staying in your current home is that every now and again we like a change in the house and doing a few home improvements is a good way to spruce up the appearance of your home.
One of the easiest rooms in the house that can be improved with a little bit of work and not a great deal of investment is your bathroom. Because the bathroom is usually a very small room the investment needed to create a wow factor can be surprisingly low.
By replacing the old silicone sealant that you find around the bath, basin and toilet which is prone to go black and mouldy you can add a cheap sparkle to the bathroom. Advances in chemistry have enabled manufacturers of bathroom silicone sealants to create a product that is resistant to mould for a number of years ensuring that you don't have to replace it every year or so and keeping your bathroom looking fresh.
Applying silicone sealant to the fixtures and fittings in your bathroom can be a fiddly job but many good hardware shops sell products that can help you apply the sealant to ensure that it looks like it was fitted by a professional.
