Are you angry from time to time? Every one does. Anger is a normal emotional response to various life stimuli and situations. But although everyone gets angry from time to time not every one has a real problem with excessive anger that affects their life.
Anger is an emotion, but like many emotions it can be overpowering and can get way out of control. And this happens to many people. But if your anger gets out of control it can be so damaging to so many different areas of your life.

And it often doesn't stop there. It can lead to violence or threats of violence towards friends and family, even children. And when it gets to this stage something absolutely must be done about it.
And the effects of this on the life of the anger sufferer, (not to mention others), is serious. Their relationships usually break down and they can become withdrawn and lonely and resentful and feel like the whole world is down on them. And in serious cases life can spiral way out of control and there can be even more serious problems.
And it's not just the emotional life that can be at risk. Serious anger problems can manifest themselves in a range of other health problems too, like digestive problems, heart problems, stroke and high blood pressure, depression, skin problems, insomnia and more. It's pretty scary.
And it can be quite unpredictable when a serious anger attack occurs. It's often in response to a stressful life event and of course stressful life events happen to everyone, there's little you can do to avoid some stress and disappointment in your life. But most people get angry, settle down and carry on.
But even though stressful and frustrating events can happen the problem isn't the event, it's your reaction to them. You can't change the event, but you can change your reaction.
