Well I am going to tell you how and why I do it and what is costs me to make some extra money! So get ready and here we go.
Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing. You are using the Internet as a marketing medium to promote other people s or businesses products. These companies will pay you a percentage of the products purchase price if any traffic you generate leads to a sale (ex: product A costs $100.00 and your commission is 75 , then you would get $75.00 per sale)! Hard to believe isn t it? Why don t companies just advertise for themselves? An advertising budget for a particular product might be huge and the company is willing to offer people a percentage of their profits to market it for them. The companies advertising firm couldn t reach all of the demographics that thousands of internet marketers can. This way it is a win win situation for all parties involved.
Where do you find these products to promote and how do you promote them? You will need to find and join different affiliate networks to be able to promote these products. You can do a simple search on Google or Yahoo for affiliate networks . This will give you a list of all the different networks that you can join to promote products. Some of the one s I am a member of are: Amazon, ClickBank, Commission Junction, RegNow, just to name a few. After you join the networks, some have different requirements, you will be able to browse the different categories and products that are available to be promoted. I would simple find something you are interested in as you first product but make sure it isn t something that is overly popular because the competition might be fierce.
Once you have decided on a product, you need to decide how you are going to promote it. Well, on the Internet there are three different ways to promote things. They are a website, pay per click, or article marketing. I wouldn t recommend the first two because they are going to cost you money. Right now you want to work online for free and make money, right? Article marketing is free and simple. All you need to do is write and article about your product. It could be a story about how you use the product or a simple review. You would then embed your affiliate link into the article, and then post the article to an article directory. People will then view your article and if written properly enough, they will click on your link and purchase the product. Once the reader makes a purchase, you will get credited for the sale and make some money. This is how you can work online for free and make money doing it!
