Clamp is one of the best creators of manga in the world and his hit X has just been released on DVD by MVM. Basically, it's an epic anime adventure offering something for everyone, but is it worth buying? Well, after reviewing the facts, we'd have to say yes. It's not going to be everyone's favourite thing but if you like anime and action then you will love it. The new DVD has a preview episode to help new viewers understand the characters so even if you're unfamiliar with the manga series, you can still enjoy this story.

So, what's X all about? Basically, it follows the story of a young boy called Kamui Shiro who is based in Tokyo. It turns out that his destiny, whether he wants it or not, is to fulfill prophecies which were foretold by a book called the Book of Revelation. The End of Days are coming and the story follows the epic battle to choose to save earth or humankind. It's quite action packed and there's something for everyone in this series.
From the talented director, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who also directed Vampire Hunter D, the story is an adventure tale and it's been classed as apocalyptic. X is a great story that covers 24 episodes on the DVD and it's actually only Volume 1 that's been released.
The story follows Kamui Shiro as he learns his fate and we learn that the epic battle will decide the fate of not only human kind but of the earth as well. As usual, there are two sides. One side wants to save earth - the Dragons of Earth and the other side, the Dragons of Heaven, want to save human kind. Kamui Shiro is the only man that can sway the battle and change the future and this is foreseen by Hinoto the seer.
After six years of training Kamui returns to learn that his two friends have been caught up in the battle. He then accepts his destiny and takes his place in the epic battle only to learn that another will rise and challenge his place. The DVD certainly offers a lot of action so if that's your thing then you should really enjoy it.
A lot of people are kicking up a huge fuss about this DVD and rightly so. X is an action packed adventure and is sure to whet the appetite of many anime fans. The Volume 1 DVD will be released on the 19th of October so there's not long to wait. If you like anime, action, adventure, comedy or anything with an epic story then you should really enjoy this new DVD.
