Canvas wallets have been in use long before today's modern wallets are discovered. Wallets gained even more popularity with the use of credit cards first in the 1950s. With that the proper wallet as we know it today evolved. These days wallets have been categorized for many purposes. Some are especially used to carry credit cards like mini wallets, some used to carry only currency and other designer, branded wallets as well.
Almost all kinds of wallets have become trendy and fashionable these days. They have become a style statement. Also they provide protection of your money from snatchers and pick picketers mainly because they are carried so close to the bodies. Another new trend these days is to attach a silver, metal chain to the wallet up to the trouser. This is supposed to be the latest style in carrying wallets.
Initially a wallet was designed to carry lots of money and a few credit cards but these days mostly credit cards are found in wallets. This is because people have started depending on plastic money because it is majorly accepted every where. Also it is safer than carrying money and standing the risk of losing it or having it stolen.
Today wallets have come along way from when the first one was invented and used. The shape and form might have undergone a lot of changes but the purpose of a wallet remains the same. Whichever style and form of wallet you choose, you will eventually get used to it as wallets lend a great deal of comfort and convenience to you.
