In World of Warcraft Skinning can be very profitable profession, especially if you know what sells well in auction house. I have a skinner hunter and I found out that Heavy Leather farming is a gold mine. The price is very high, so I decided to search for places with high density of mobs which I can skin them and drop me Heavy Leather. I traveled around Azeroth, and after a while I made a list of places.
Heavy Leather farming places:
First place for Heavy Leather farming is Growless Cave in Alterac Mountains. Killing and skinning Yetis can gives you a lot of Heavy Leather. Also sellable grey items and greens to disenchant.
Next one is Bloodfen Burrow in Dustwallow Marsh, killing Raptors. If you kill fast and the raptors around the cave don't respawn, you can head south-east (on the other side of the hill), where several more Raptors spawn. By the time I killed those, the raptors at the cave had all respawned. Also, there is a quest there so you may get occasional visitors. If they're not skinners, you can skin without killing.
And the third one I like is also killing Raptors north of Gurubashi Arena in Stranglethorn Vale.
These are my three favorite places for Heavy Leather farming. I recommend you to go with your highest level skinner (80-85), so you don't waste time killing the mobs. And there is one more thing to say: before you go anywhere clear your bags first. That's because for skinning the animals, you need to loot them first. This means you will gather a lot of junk stuff filling your bags. Once I forgot it and it was quite frustrating, don't repeat the same mistake I did.
Anyway, Heavy Leather farming may be one of the ways to earn gold in World of Warcraft. But after I got a copy of CATACLYSM GOLD SECRETS EXPOSED, I found out all the other MUCH more profitable ways to get tons of gold easily. You just need to know the tricks. I warmly recommend it to you.
