During the 18th-19th century Peking opera or extra generally known as Beijing Opera flourished within the Qing Dynasty. The Anhui troupe gained name and fame right after forming Beijing opera and were invited to different kingdoms to perform. Empress Dowager Cixi encouraged this art and became a great admirer of it.
