If that nagging back pain is wreaking havoc in your life have patience, you are not alone. Several people are there who have to go through this horrendous pain each day without any sign of relief.

While back pain can be excruciating, it is common. This is one of the main reasons why people go to doctor every year.

Back pains are basically of two types like the short term and the chronic pain. The lower back pain distress is usually caused due to some kind of low back trauma. Certain disorders such as arthritis may also cause acute back pain. Sufferings such as sports injury and vehicular injury can also cause back pain to you.

Simple muscular back pain to sharp stabbing pain both can actually limit a person?s movement and flexibility. It is quite difficult for anyone to stand upright having back pain. Someone having back ache for over three months is classified as chronic back pain sufferer. Unlike some temporary types of pain that will go away in time, chronic back pain is there to stay and very hard to deal with at times.

People apply hot and cold compress when they get back injuries. These compresses are done because they may help reduce inflammation and relieve the patient of pain. To strengthen the muscle of the back and abdomen some exercise are too necessary for you and it helps in restoring mobility as well. These exercises can be found online, or may be recommended by your doctors and chiropractors.

In extreme cases, surgery is recommended to help stop back pain and prevent serious muscle injuries. Unless the back pain is anatomical, generally surgery is not required. Some doctors say certain cases of back pain are of psychological origin.

It is always advised to take the help of the doctor if the back pain refuses to go away after a long time. If you suffer from numbness of the groin region, foot, leg or the rectal area you should immediately consult a doctor and also in case you develop a feeling of nausea, stomach ache and fever.

There are all types of medicines available from anti inflammatory to pain killer and muscle relaxers, but all should be taken by a doctors orders only. There is no magic potion to cure you of the back pain immediately so just relax and do not exert yourself too much.
