The walls of these shelters are made of transparent or semi-transparent materials so as to provide the commuters a clear vision of the traffic. The roof is made slanting to avoid the accumulation of rain water. Some of these shelters have seating arrangements for elderly people and pregnant ladies. These shelters are made at such places which do not come in the way of general traffic. They are designed in a way to avoid traffic rush.Any shelter of such kind holds several subtle stories of urbane life. They also act as a place of interaction. These are non-profit arrangements by the government organizations. People of all and every class use these places. This is one of the many gifts of the modernization to our social structure. It is also true that these shelters have seen much technical upgradation since the time they came out. They are of much relief as they protect against the wrath of any climatic condition. Now-a-days these are being upgraded to serve physically handicapped people as well who were ignored for a long while.Despite being non-profit arrangements, they can be a source of generating revenue. They are great spaces for the advertisement of products. The revenue gathered in turn helps the government.
