As a veteran player of social networking site games like FarmVille, Mafia Wars, FrontierVille and such, I didn't think a guide would be needed for another Zynga game. I was actually surprised when I started seeing CityVille guides popping up all over the place. I know most of the people play the other games too, especially Farmville and Mafia Wars, so why would they need a guide for Cityville?
Those were my thoughts before I started playing and didn't realize how many nuances and complications they added to make a more complex and interesting game. I didn't even intend to become addicted, it just happened after I innocently decided to see what it was about one day. What I had thought would be a simple game, was much more complicated that I anticipated. I was surprised that I couldn't seem to get enough crops harvested in time or collect enough coins to keep things moving.
Eventually, I was able to figure out a few strategies for playing and redesigned parts of my city for better payout. This allowed me to get out of the original hole I found myself in and have a little surplus but I still wasn't progressing as fast as I wanted to go. I finally realized that this was no doubt the reason why so many guides had popped up. I decided it was worth a shot to buy one myself and see what tips and ideas there were to help me move forward easier.
The guide I ended up choosing is called the Cityville Master Plan, and let me say, the tips and strategies inside pleasantly surprised me. You wouldn't think there were so many ways you mess up the design of a virtual city, but believe me, you can. I was still struggling to get past Level 16 when I got the guide after playing regularly for two weeks straight. Now I proudly own an amazing city and I'm at Level 46!
