This company has a way about them that has made winning industry awards seem easy for them over the last few years. They have also fought hard to be recognized as an airline that offers tremendous service that people will not break your budget. For example, Sun Country Airlines has earned a top ten spot in Travel & Leisure for four years straight. But that is not all - Conde Nast Traveler has chosen Sun Country Airlines for top honors for three years in a row. Only 33 employees were on board when Sun Country first began scheduled flights. They were all willing to work hard, and of course were highly motivated. Even the pilots and flight attendants pitched in and did multiple jobs. When you are alone and starting a business like that, then you put things aside and focus on the job. Much to their credit, they were in profits in less than two months of operation.
Unfortunately, due to many reasons, Sun Country had to enter into bankruptcy protection by September 2010. For that kind of situation, a judge has to preside and give an approval decision. Any plan needs the approval of everybody because investors will naturally want to receive some portion of their money back. When these processes occur, there is a distribution of value in the form of cash plus equity from the business.
Recently, Sun Country Airlines created a program they designated as Sun Country Vacations. This program serves as a point of convenience for air travelers. What that means to air travelers is they can book all they need for their traveling at one time. Then we come to Sun Country Charters which is simply a service for organizations that want to charter or even lease aircraft.
Sun Country Airlines has an unique and tremendous history of an airline that started as a dream. But it all started with Braniff Airlines shortly after they went out of business. Sun Country Airlines really does read like a book because it has all the elements of a good book. You cannot dismiss the many awards and mentions they have received, both nationally and internationally. We are confident that the company and its employees will be able to pull together just as they have so many times in the past.
