Increasing your vertical jump is one of many goals that athletes would love to accomplish. Take it for granted that some people are just natural leapers while some people are natural runners. Their is many ways that people can do weight training and other forms of exercises to increase their vertical and jump higher to dunk a basketball. For some athletes, they have no idea on how to accomplish this feat. But for some, they have the knowledge capable of doing this but do not seem to have the equipment. Here we will discuss some issues people have and what they neglect.
A muscle group that is the most neglected
Did you know that you use basically all muscles in the body when you are running or going for a jump? Well this us true in many cases if you have not figured it out. What do you think the muscles are used when a boxer throws a punch? It starts off with the boxer gathering energy through the legs with the stance and then twisting their body and extending their arm off and then hitting the target. This is how it is also if you were to run or jump.
So do you know what muscle group is widely neglected?
It is..the abs. So why can we say that abs are the most neglected muscle that inexperienced athletes do not tend to? Because it is the main muscle that transfers energy to the rest of the body and this is a special rule especially when it comes to sports. If you have weak abs then you will have a weak performance in sports. Or if you are very good at the sport you play but do not have strong abs, then you might as well just stop playing. Many college coaches have their athletes train hard on the abs and this is what every athlete should follow. The abs are the main muscle groups that transfer energy and we can call it kinetic linking because that is what it is.
Here is a good exercise that you should do to strengthen your core muscles.
1. Sit ups- Perhaps everybody knows how to do this exercises. You need to lay down flat on the floor and relaxed. You tuck your knees straight and then put your hands behind your head and then do pick up your lower body and bring it up all the way to where the firm knees are in place.
You should always rest and replenish your muscles when you are done working out because your body needs nutrients the most at this time when you lost minerals and electrolytes from sweat.
