One of my favorite hobbies will be the collection of utilised and new comic books. I possess over fifteen hundred and fifty comic books that contain 1st printings, autographed copies and graphic novels. Virtually all of my collection is super heroes. Why do people collect comic books?
As with most young boys, comic books fascinated me. Adventures to strange planets, odd beings bent on destroying earth just due to the fact they can, and the super heroes who should quit the perpetrators. I would get bags full and read with delight into the wee hours of the morning. Other times I discovered autographed copies from the artists or writers and would invest in those. When Batman plus the Dark Knight series came out I managed to obtain all four 1st printings. Sadly they had been stolen, along with some other useful merchandise.
My comic book collection contains an excellent deal of graphic novels. I get pleasure from both the comic book plus the graphic novel. Oftentimes I come across individuals who collect comic books and they attempt to explain to me that they do not read them; they retain it for the possible value. Whilst I do not engage in that practice, when you think the comic books you buy might be worth some thing, then by all means do it. I know some of my comic books are worth cash but that's not a consideration when I invest in them. If I desire to read a specific comic book, and it truly is worth funds, I will read it anyway. It might deflate the cost, but to reiterate, that's not why I invest in them.
