Perspiration, also known as sweating or transpiration is a natural body function that’s actually beneficial to mankind, as it regulates the temperature of the body. But it becomes a different issue when sweating is found to be excessive. If you experience frequent excessive sweating under normal conditions, then you may be suffering from hyperhidrosis. Now, there’s no reason to panic though as if it is a deadly disease. But it can cause very uncomfortable situations as explained below.
Some parts of the body get affected with hyperhidrosis. They can be your hands, your feet, your face or your head. When you have palmar hyperhidrosis, which affects the hands, you will find it uncomfortable to shake hands with people, without first wiping the sweat off your hands. Sometimes when you want to write down something hurriedly, you find that you mess up the paper and your hands due to the sweating on the hands. It is really very uncomfortable.
Another part of the body which is likely to be affected is the feet. Obviously it’ll be very uncomfortable with sweaty feet. For instance, if you’re a woman wearing high heel footwear, sometimes you will find it slippery and risky to walk with the wet feet. If you’re a man, you will not want others to be offended and kept away by the smell emanating from your socks due to your sweaty feet. We’re sorry to be explicit but this may be the worst case.
The most common part of the body affected by sweating is the face. In the case of a woman, excessive facial sweating will cause the makeup to melt away, resulting in a messy appearance.
Lastly, it is head sweating, which can be solved easily. When head sweating is excessive, the sweat will fall down over the face. So you will find your head and face all wet at the day’s end. What can be a simple solution to this problem?
Now, don’t make a hasty decision of undergoing some surgery or technological procedure to cure your problem of excessive sweating. First you should get to know the cause of the problem. For instance, if someone or everyone in your family has excessive head sweating, then without doubt your problem is due to the hereditary factor.
Certain health problems like a thyroid condition can cause excessive head sweating. So you can solve your problem of head sweating by consuming iodine rich food. Obesity can also cause head sweating which is excessive. If it is so in your case, then follow a balanced healthy diet and lessen the weight of your body.
Besides the above said simple solutions, proper hygiene is also necessary. Take a daily bath, with shampoo for your hair. This will prevent the smell exuding from your hair when your head starts sweating excessively. And never wear a hat. Your head will remain warm within a hat and will start to sweat profusely.
Last but not the least, remember to drink plenty of water to replace the body fluid lost by sweating.
