If you live in the UK or are visiting the Europe area, channel ferries are a travel likelihood between countries. When journeying between the UK and France, channel ferry boats are available from several different cities. France is a very beloved destination site and is visited very often, particularly by people from England. Lots of individuals visit France to see the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. There are many museums and cultural sites to visit as well. The atmosphere and scenery are fabulous places to visit and explore if you have never been there before. However, before trekking, it is sensible to buy tickets for these ferries beforehand. There are plenty of websites and ferry companies online that will allow you to choose your departure point and destination. Prices vary based on if you are traveling by car or foot, how many passengers, how long your car is and which route you are taking.

The most well-known ferries from the United Kingdom to France are P&O Ferries, Brittany Ferries, SeaFrance, Norfolkline, LD Lines, DFDS Seaways, Condor Ferries, Stena Line and many more. The routes vary, but the most popular ports from Great Britain are Dover, Ramsgate, Folkestone, Newhaven, Portsmouth, Poole, Weymouth and Plymouth. If you are leaving from Ireland, then Cork and Rosslare are two major ferry points as well. When driving to the coast of France, Ostend, Dunkerque, Calais, Boulogne, Dieppe, Le Havre, Caen, Cherbourg, St. Malo and Roscoff are common ferry drop off points. Trips from Great Britain to inside of France are also available. When traveling from England, Calais is the closest and shortest destination spot. The ferry trip is a little over an hour long. Dover crosses to Calais through Norfolkline 12 times a day and 24 times a day through P&O Ferries. Ferry trips can last an hour or a day, depending on the route taken. Each ferry line has its own prices and schedules, so be sure to check out each one for the best deal.

If you are intending to stay during the week, the average starting ticket for two passengers and a car is around ?54; however, if you are planning to stay over the weekend, then it is a little more expensive with prices starting at or around ?90. Fortunately, special offers are available from different ferry companies. For example, rates for a person moving on foot returning from Dover to Calais start at ?12.00. Also, a car and up to four people can travel between Dover and Dunkerque from ?19.00. Prices are subject to change very often and depend on the departure and return point as well as the ferry company.

Driving by ferry between the United Kingdom and France is a very common mode of transportation. Ferry companies have competitive prices as do airlines. When traveling between countries, be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time and plan accordingly. Whether staying for a day, week or longer, France is a stunning destination spot to get to by ferry.
