Plane simulations games are readily available to the general public. In fact, there are so many of them it can be hard to pick between them. I have been an avid user of Microsoft's flight sim for quite a while. As of right now, I am currently using a newer plane simulator that is also really good. This simulator is called pro flight simulator. This plane sim is great and has many features included.
Not to long ago you would need to pay for all sorts of things in plane simulations games, but with pro flight simulator, its all included. Most flying games would make you pay for each and every airplane or helicopter. With pro flight, they have included over 250 airplanes and helicopters. The other flying games would also make you pay for scenery and airports. Again with pro flight they include over 20000 airports all across the world. They have also included scenery from google maps, and this makes the game about as realistic as it can possibly be.
Lets be honest, out of all the plane simulations games, pro flight is by far my favorite. The other ones are very good too, but they tend to get really expensive when you start adding on planes and airports. I believe after the success of pro flight the other companies that make simulators will start to follow their path. This would be great news for all of the Microsoft flight fans. Only time will tell what happens down the line.
As far as plane simulations games go, pro flight is the best in my book for these reasons. It is extremely real compared to other sims. It can be difficult just to start the plane, but has guides to help you through it. It even has an option where you can start in mid-flight just in case you can't grasp how to get the plane started. While it may be a little complicated to get the plane started it is based off of how the planes really start. So if you are going to fly an F-16, you will be able to start it just like a real F-16 would. It does take some time to get used to this game but it actually trains you how to really fly.
I don't think I could live without all these plane simulations games, but I know I could not live without pro flight. I use this every day and I can now fly over 15 different planes. I can also fly 2 different types of helicopters, but they are even harder to fly than the planes. The helicopters also have the same option as the planes where you can start flying in mid-air without having to learn how to take off. You can also land at different places than you can with planes. I even landed on the top of a few buildings successfully. While I don't recommend this, it is quite fun.
If you have never used a flight simulator or even if you just have an older one you should really try our pro flight sim. It was just updated recently and it will give a great insight to flying.
