There are many individual treatments for panic attacks, but all natural ones can be broken down to two fronts. These fronts are mental and physical. By improving from one of these angles, you will also become stronger in the other. In this article you will learn how to utilize both angles of attack fully to stop your panic attacks.
Not many people realize how profound the link between mind and body is. When you are thinking emotionally, your body will respond proportionally. Heavy or bad emotions can cause health problems. You can see the effects instantly. Stressed people will feel physically drained partially due to the fact that when you are stressed your body will tense.
You can also "trick" your mind into feeling a certain emotion. By using your body in a way that corresponds to how you normally would when you feel a given emotion, you will begin to experience that emotion. You can feel depressed by simply breathing shallowly, slumping over, frowning, and looking down. Just flip that to experience happiness. When using your body like this properly, it is impossible to feel any other way. Correct how you are using your body during the day if you feel stressed.
You can more passively improve how you feel physically as well. By passive I mean the benefits you reap from the actions you take will last longer. There are three points under this being exercise, diet, and sleep.
When you exercise, endorphins are released, tension reduced, and there are many other short and long term benefits. You will feel far less stressed if you do this on a regular basis. Your body won't be as responsive if you have a poor diet, but most already know this. Lesser known is that substances like caffeine, alcohol, and sleeping pills can all lead to panic attacks. Sleep directly reduces tension by allowing the body to recover, and indirectly reduces stress as you will become more mentally prepared to take on your day when you get enough rest.
Panic attacks are truly caused by what goes on in your mind though. Remember that it is not events that shape your thoughts, but rather your thoughts that shape events. By changing your patterns of thought that lead to stress you are removing panic attacks and giving yourself a better life overall.
The patterns of thought are created by questions you ask yourself on a regular basis. Since questions direct focus, the primary set of questions a panic attack sufferer asks will be far different from someone who leads a relaxed life. If you experience panic attacks, the major questions you ask yourself repeatedly are most likely limited in scope or they imply failure. "How can I enjoy this experience and add something amazing to it," is preferable to "How can I get through this," which is better than "Can I get through this?" You will enjoy a much happier and more successful life if you ask powerful questions that imply your ability to succeed.
