If you've ever visited South Wales before, you may have noticed the presence of so many motorhomes and Leisure Park all around the area. In my opinion, South Wales provides one of the best scenic spots from forests to coasts in the whole of the United Kingdom. And I believe that so many people have become mesmerized by this area that they purchase motor homes to live in South Wales part of the time, especially during the spring and summer months.
This situation intrigued me, and being the curious fellow that I am, decided to find out the whole motor homes market in South Wales and why the motorhomes for sale market is on the rise here.
Rather than going to the city administration halls and asking for raw data, which I could probably find online, I decided to do the immersion approach which meant staying in a park and talking to people and even owners of motorhome sales companies. Interestingly enough, when I first went to a motorhome park to inquire about the rates for people without motor homes and caravans to stay in their lot, the owners offered me to use one of their units for rent at no extra cost save for the rate for a motorhome stay. This impressed me somewhat because here I was, a stranger to them, yet being privileged enough to use it. Stepping inside, I was given a tour by the owner of its functions and utilities that were available. My first night spent in it was indeed relaxing. I was invited to a pot luck dinner wherein most of the residents of the park congregated to share their food, and stories. I met a couple who after their retirement move from park to motorpark depending on the season. I met a salesman who purchased a motorhome to act as his office and place to rest and relax. He said that the advantage of a portable mobile office was that it enabled him to bring his wife and kids at his own discretion. Though this time he was alone, he was to pick up his family from the bus station in two days time. And the owners of the park and the sales company were perfect hosts and they told so many stories of people who have been in their parks, which they have owned for almost a quarter of a century. They too, take time off from their work for at least 3 weeks and do travel around. From that one night, I learned that the motor homes are indeed what they are: a mobile home whose owners share a part of themselves to others. I found out later that most motorhomes for sale in south wales were from those who wanted upgrades and often times sold them to those entering the motorhome market.
