How do you create a site suitable for a world wide audience, without writing it in ten thousand different languages?

Our goal is to create a website that can speak any language, and speak to people from all over the world. We want to inspire people, and to make people discover the beauty of extreme sports. Somehow describe those awesome adrenaline kicks you get from doing stuff you don?t feel too familiar with. Or see somebody pushing the limits far beyond what?s really possible. Just call it a website that makes people feel alive.

Video makes it possible. Videos make everything possible, and we like to watch extreme sports videos. But there are too much content to choose from? There is so much awesome videos on the web. Where to find all the best videos? Sites like Stumbleupon and Reddit are helping us out a lot. Some of the videos are allready going viral, and some videos we find looks like they might have the potential. Some videos we get from forums. We also get a lot of videos from people making the videos, and want to promote their content.

To speak a lot of languages, we want to let images and videos speak for themselves. A site with as little text as possible is a bit of a challenge. If there?s no text, there?s no way to find it in search engines. We therefor decided to use a title, and a category. Nothing more. Twitter proved that there?s not the length of the text that matters. A title and a play icon over a screenshot of the video. Everybody should from that be able to relate to it somehow. Everybody likes easy.

We?re mainly creating the site because we love extreme sports. We get to watch a lot of cool videos every day. We love it. Hopefully we will inspire and entertain more people as well. Will search engines like it? Does websites exist the way they do today in three years, or websites be replaced by facebook profiles profiles? Who knows. Make websites for people. If people like it, the search engines will like it too.
