To get the greatest sound out of your computer the cheapest way is to hook it up to a home stereo, the best part is that this is very cheap to do, as long as you already have a stereo. The way to do this is to connect your PC through an amplifier to a set of speakers. When buying the cables to do this job, the best way is to buy them from a computer store or off the Internet.
First, you're going to buy a 1/8 inch stereo plug to stereo RCA port cable. This cable comes with the Jack that plugs into your computer, and to RCA ports to plug into each stereo channel. Now you're going to plug-in the 1/8 inch jack into either your computers headphone or speaker port. Now connect the two RCA is tier stereos to line in ports, if your stereo does not have these line in ports. You can connect them to a CD or DVD player port. Now you're going to set your stereos sound input to whatever you plugged the RCA cables into. Something to keep in mind is that if your PC is too loud in your stereos too low, you'll hear distortion.
