There's something very appealing about a mouth that smiles to reveal teeth that are clean, even and pearly white. Whether you're in a business or social setting, the quality of your teeth and smile can affect how sure of yourself you feel. Unfortunately, many factors, from smoking to how you eat, can take away from the whiteness of your teeth. Having teeth that look clean, white and healthy takes some effort, but there are ways to achieve it. You can clean your teeth using many different substances. You don't, however, want to whiten your teeth at any cost, as some methods can be harmful to the health of your teeth if used too often. In fact, it's best not to use any method of teeth whitening too frequently.
Essentially, teeth whiteners are divided into two broad categories, abrasives and chemical cleaners. Salt and baking soda are some of the abrasive items needed.
The baking soda will give you a fresh smelling breath and the salt will make your teeth brighter. Hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide and other acidic items will make the discoloration on your teeth break down. But bear in mind that all of these approaches will put a strain on the enamel coating on your teeth. Simply put, when using abrasives, you cannot brush your teeth too hard or too frequently.
Another method requires that you rub your teeth certain ingredients. For example, we have seen the suggestion to rub teeth with the inside of lemon peel.
In addition, it has been said that rubbing your teeth with olive oil can be successful. When it comes to using olive oil rub, you would also rinse your mouth out with diluted apple cider. However, when it comes to the lemon peels, you would need to rub vigorously to mix it up with the citric acid to make things work. Remember that various kinds of acid will slightly dissolve the stains on your teeth. So, it is recommended that you do not use whiteners that have acid in them because they can make the enamel weak, which will have a bad effect on you in the future.
Baking soda can be effective for whitening your teeth, especially when combined with other ingredients. If you mix glycerin and baking soda, adding a pinch of salt, you can make a simple but powerful homemade tooth whitening toothpaste. The baking soda is the active ingredient, while the glycerin will make the solution into a paste so you can effectively brush it onto your teeth. You should not, however, brush your teeth too vigorously with this solution. Many substances that whiten your teeth, including baking soda and salt, also have the potential to harm your teeth's enamel. For this reason, it's best to be cautious when you use this type of mixture, and not do so too frequently.
