The first thing is that even if you are advertising correctly and doing everything right, you WILL fail at first. The journey to success is full of failures and when these failures are experienced, people no longer hand around to experience more of this dreaded failure. That is the biggest mistake one could make if they are in an online affiliate business because that way, they are guaranteed one thing, and that is failure which is permanent like a scar on the body.
Another thing you need to keep mind is the way you advertise. Do not fool yourself by thinking spamming forums and blogs will help build your business. This is very far from the truth because chances are you would get banned and both your name and image would be washed away in the sand. People hate spammers and even worse if your online affiliate business finds out you have been spamming, they may also delete your account which would leave you with no business. Sucks to be that person huh?!
Their is only ONE way you can get results and succeed in your affiliate business. That one way is by doing what is necessary in order to get results and that is taking consistent action. When you go to the gym for one day, you do not wake up the next day with an extra 10 or 20lbs of muscle. To have gains like that, you need to be consistent in your actions and guess what? The exact same thing applies when it comes to an online affiliate business. You will only get results and see results if you are consistent in advertising the right way and then following up with your leads or prospects.
How do you follow up? You can either e-mail them or ring them and let them know who you are. This is THE first step to building a relationship so it is crucial that you connect with the prospect and give them value right from the get go. Relationship building is vital when it comes to an online affiliate business or any other business because especially with an online business, people will not be joining the business, they will be joining YOU.
So to sum up, the only way you will get results is by advertising the right way and that too on a consistent basis. For example you could pick forum marketing, blogging, article marketing, PPC, the list goes on. Pick one method, learn everything there is to learn about it and then put that knowledge into daily action. Once you start seeing results, which will take some time, follow up with your prospects and connect with them on a personal level. Once that becomes a habit, then you my friend will have no problem in achieving success on a long term basis.
