At this point, you will start to feel heavy almost as if energy is leaving your body. As you get to this point, and you are completely relaxed, you will know that it is time to move on to the next step of astral projection.
Once you are fully relaxed, you may be ready to fall asleep - don't doze off, you're almost there! Repeat a phrase to yourself to stay focused. It doesn't matter what this mantra is. Even "around the corner" can work - just choose a phrase which you can focus on and repeat it.
If you begin to get bored as the mind tends to do when it has nothing to focus on, you may have to reel it back in. If you are stuck in this rut, either end the session or use your phrase to bring your mind back into focus.
There are a few different ways to reach the necessary state of altered consciousness for astral projection. You can repeat your phrase until you get there, or you can use the 'body of light' method - here, you envision a body made of light which you visualize yourself transforming into.
There are three things which you should look out for which will let you know that you have managed to astral project. First, you'll feel as if you are moving - this is your astral body starting to depart on your journey. Next, you'll see light and colors even though you'll have your eyes closed.
Last, you'll hear voices. These voices will either be urging you to continue or to stop - this is a sure fire sign that you are on your way to astral projecting.
