Animation movies are the perfect way to spend time with your kids and if it happens to be Monsters vs. Aliens, which has enough humour, action and special effects to keep you glued to your seats, it's all the more fun. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures, it is the first computer animated movie to be directly produced in a stereoscopic 3-D format.
Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson and Paul Rudd have lent their voices to the varied characters bringing in more liveliness and action to the movie. The movie shows how Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by a meteorite on the day of her wedding to weatherman Derek Dietl (Paul Rudd), absorbing a substance called quantonium and growing into a giantess.
Fearing people's lives, the police send her to a prison where she comes across General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland), B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), a brainless, indestructible gelatinous blob; the Missing Link (Will Arnett), an amphibious fish-ape hybrid; Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie), a mad scientist with the head and abilities of a cockroach; and Insectosaurus, a colossal grub that is even larger than Susan.
Susan wishes to get back her normal life and Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson) detects the quantonium radiation emanating from Earth and deploys a gigantic robotic probe to find and extract it from its source, Susan. After a failed attempt by the President of the United States (Stephen Colbert) to make first contact with the robot, it begins destroying everything in sight, resisting all conventional military force. Giving up all hope, the police is forced to hand over the task of fighting the robot to the monsters, promising them freedom in return.
Many things happen then after. Derek breaks up with Susan and the monsters successfully destroy the robot. Amidst all this action, you will be happy to know that you can also get a DVD or BLU-RAY copy from BIG HOME VIDEOS.
