A piece can be obtained through a question and answer process of acquiring data and facts. Usually, this can be done with an interview. In order to gather relevant information and verified statements about a certain thing, issue or situation or any events, a person should interview someone who has a lot of concerns with the situation.

Therefore, you ask questions that are relevant to the topic and then you will have the answer after your interviewee would speak out. When it’s done, you put it into writing so that you can publish a piece based on facts. Depending on how the writer’s strategy on writing an article however, there are also certain concerns that you should be aware about.

Novice writers will look at Q& A type of pieces and think they’re the easiest thing to produce. All you have to do is transcribe the interview and you’re done, right? Well, not exactly.

In truth, Q& A format pieces may prove more difficult to write. That’s because you can’t exercise the same amount of control over the material the same way you do with a more traditional format, such as a narrative or a chronological piece. But then, you can enhance yourself more on how you are going to write effectively and efficiently after obtaining the necessary information that you will need for your piece. Here are some tips that you should always bear in your mind when writing Q& A piece.

Preparation Work

Preparation is crucial to these types of interview pieces. It’s best to have, from the onset, a clear idea of how you want to final product to turn out, so that you can structure your questions in a way that lead up to them. You can write down the possible questions that you need to ask and how your interview would end up to. This way, you can help yourself in situation like you feel a bit nervous or mental block about what you are about to ask with your interviewee. Making an outline will be better.

Presentation

Most Q& A style features are best written with a narrative introduction, setting the context for the conversation. Detail the events leading up to the interview, the conditions it was held in and other information that can create a picture of the scene for the reader.

After that, you can proceed with publishing the Q& A, making certain you add proper software based writing corrections to grammar and sentence use that can confuse the reader (add it in parenthesized style if you believe the correction detracts from your subject’s personality). While a chronological account of the back and forth could work, most Q& A pieces have been edited to make the most sense, so don’t be afraid to remove unnecessary conversations and to rearrange the sequences.

For the closing, some writers prefer to narrate the end of the interview, noting exactly the events that happen afterwards to signify the end of the back and forth. Others prefer to close with one of the answers from the subject, choosing one that leaves an indelible impression on the reader.
