As my Sifu has instructed me, Wing Chun translates to "Beautiful Springtime", which further interpreted means "Hope for the Future". This is so profoundly true, in so many ways, and for so many reasons. As I pursue the vision of sharing this cherished jewel to enrich and deepen what South Jersey Kung Fu has to offer, I am grateful for the honor of participating in the proper development of NJ Kung Fu
As far as it's creation is concerned, whether you believe the lovely chronicle of the noble female Shaolin Monk, Ng Mui, or if you believe the legend that there was needed a more concise art to quickly teach young warriors, either way this exquisite and supremely sophisticated gem was given to us. Even if Ng Mui acted alone, it is clear that she did not start from scratch.
Out of hundreds of years of earnest and dedicated Shaolin devotees, and hundreds of extraordinary styles of Shaolin Kung Fu, the brilliant refinement of Wing Chun Kung Fu was born.
We who are involved with the continued progress of South Jersey Kung Fu are interested in the philosophy of never being complacent. We desire for our NJ Kung Fu to gain greater power and precision all of the time. Through the strength of our minds, and the resilience of our bodies, we aim to make all of our ancestors proud. Because we understand that the reason that we call it a martial "art" is because it requires creativity and an ability to think in bold and expressive new ways.
To many of you who are new to the NJ Kung Fu experience, I welcome you to share in this continued journey with me. In this sacred, fun, and beautiful South Jersey Kung Fu adventure we all have the opportunity to grow and explore together! To stand on the shoulders of all of the great and sagacious masters who have ever been, and give them love and respect by moving ever forward.
And so South Jersey Kung Fu stands with all of the most sincere disciples of this wonderful art. We gain inspiration and tenacity from our roots, even as we take NJ Kung Fu well into the future.
Not just with Hope for the Future of advancing our Shaolin Heritage, but with the genuine Hope for the Future of the betterment of all Humankind as well!
