Because of cutting down trees, we lose up to six billion trees on an annual basis. The fact is that the commodities that are created from trees are needed for our everyday living. Such as wood to put up houses, paper for writing on and even toilet paper for, well you know. It is possible to act to save our forests although we need to accept that most of the things made from trees are needed.
Arbor Day was created with the intention that we should all be planting trees on that day although actually this has had little impact. Planting trees is not something that many people give any thought to. It would help, obviously, if everyone planted a tree.
Did you know that there are about 7 billion people on Earth? Naturally, you can never be sure of the exact numbers for this. Nonetheless, we could replace the trees that are cut down each year if each one of those people did actually plant a tree on Arbor day. We know that this is not likely to take place.
Thus, planting trees is something you need to consider if you are concerned about the air we breathe and the environment. In terms of planting a tree, I would not propose you merely do this on a certain day each year. I am suggesting planting a tree more or less once a month or even once per week. The reason is because someone should make up for all those individuals are using our resources but don't want to plant a tree for whatever reason.
Each year on Arbor Day, the number of trees that are planted is only between 8 and 15 million. That still leaves us with a 5 billion tree shortage each and every year. And every year, it simply continues to get worse.
I actually have a solution to the problem entirely although individuals should nonetheless continue to plant trees whenever they can. It could be made a legal requirement that anyone involved in chopping down trees must replace each tree cut down with two newly planted ones and this would go a long way to solving the problem.
We are going to have to continue to deal with this issue ourselves until there is the political willpower to make these changes. And it isn't going to take that much for us to replace the tree population yearly. If each month, roughly 10% of people on the planet could plant a tree, that would make up for the numbers being chopped down annually. On average, that would be just over 7 billion trees being planted each year. Easentially, this gives us an extra one billion trees and will go a long way to restoring the levels that are truly needed.
Planting a tree is a way we can all save the environment. Again, it only takes 10% of the world population to start making a difference. And you could be one of those people.
