If your pictures and text aren't coming out as vibrant and strong as they used to, it may be about time you switched your ink cartridge. While this process may vary from printer to printer, the whole process is usually pretty similar. To start you actually want to leave the printer on. You're going to open the cover, in most cases there's a latch you use to do this. In most cases once you pop the hood so to speak, the cartridges will come out their hiding places to get a glimpse of the sunlight; this is why your printer has to be on when you do this.
Now that you've gotten to the cartridges it's time to get them out of there. They'll usually pop or slide out, nothing too complicated. One you get them out you're going to want to wipe away any dirt or dust that might have been lurking underneath the cartridges.
With your new cartridges in hand you're going to pull off the plastic strip that prevents the new cartridges nozzles and contacts. Now all you have to do is pop the new cartridges into place, close everything back up, and put your paper tray back on if need be. In some cases your printer will have software that you can run in order to align the new cartridges. If your printer does have this program you're going to want to run it now in order to finish everything off.
