I've been running Ad's for my own business, attending webinars by the best Facebook Advertisers in the world, and now run ads for other businesses. Just recently I ran an Ad that only cost me $0.13 per click and had a conversion (people liking my page that clicked on the ad) of 78%. So how did I do it? I avoided some of the most common mistakes that many people make that cost them results, time, and money.
1. Being broad with who you target
- Don't try to reach everyone but try to focus on a target group, knowing what strings to pull that will cause them to pay attention and act upon your call to action.
2. Wordy with your Ad body
- With 135 characters I found out quickly that you don't need to always use them all to be effective.
3. Graphics that are complicated
- You don't need to be an artist to put together a good graphic on Facebook Ad's. Make sure it represents your product in a way that will make people want to know what hiding behind that graphic.
4. Undefined strategy
- Are you trying to add more fans to your page, build an email list, simply gain more exposure, drive more traffic to your website? Pick one don't try to accomplish all of them with one Ad.
5. No landing page
- You may have a great Ad but can figure out why people aren't liking your page. Make sure you have a good welcome tab or reveal tab that calls people to "like" your page. Don't just figure people know what to do when they click on your Ad.
