* Firstly you need to relax. You need to relax your body and mind in preparation. Several techniques are available to you and are simple to use. Deep breathing is one and very simple. You breath everyday, but now you are going to breath deeply, slow and calmly. Do deep inhales and exhale deeply as well. Relax all your muscles one by one. Tensing first and then relaxing them. Start with your toes and work upward toward you head.
* Next induce a hypnotic state. This is where your body and mind are on the border of going to sleep. Don't go to sleep. Use another called the gazing method of focusing your mind on an object somewhere in the room while you are laying on a lounge or in bed. Focus, keep staring at it until you close your eyes and still see the object.
* Even as you see the object, eyes closed you need to go deeper into the state you are in. To do this, and this is the best way, look around (eyes still closed) see what you. You might detect varied light patterns and the room may become cloaked in a purple light, pay no attention to this. And when the light is gone and you no longer see it, you know you are in a deeper state. Completely and totally relaxed at this point you are no longer aware of your physical body.
* This step is absolutely imperative with this technique. The state of vibration will need to be entered into. Many report feeling these types of vibration fairly early in the projection process. Is thought by the participant that the feeling of vibration is what happens when the astral body start to depart from the physical body. Don't let this stage worry you, relax and feel the vibrations.
* Now you need to control the state of vibrations. You need to focus on the vibrations, move them all through your body. This is done with your mind. You want the vibrations felt all over your body. Like waves of the ocean washing over you. Practice until you succeed in bringing these waves on as desired. Once you accomplish this and create these waves on demand, you're ready to leave your body.
* The key element to any astral projection or travel is control, your mind has to be the one in power. While having your mind concentrating on the thought of leaving your physical body, first let your foot or hand go of your astral body. Reach them out to and object close to you, as in the floor, the wall, or other object that is familiar, then reach your foot or hand through the object. Then bring your hand or foot back to your physical body,make the vibrations slow down, and stop the session. Keep laying down and let your body fully return to an awake state.
* The final step is that you get to finally exit your body. Do the other steps as listed above, but this time you will transfer completely to your astral body. You will need to slightly alter step six. In place of thinking about releasing only a part of your body, you will now think about releasing the whole astral body, by concentrating on how little it weighs as if weightless in fact, as in feather blowing around in the wind. The astral body actually should be transporting away from the physical body, you should feel a floating or flying effect.
Several other methods are available for you to try. One is the Rope Technique, and there is the Gazing Method, and also the Anchor Technique. Take some time and spend it practicing the seven steps of astral projection techniques and see what works best for you. There is an astral technique available for everyone and there is one for you.
