Anytime someone thinks about all the advantages of working from home, the first thing that comes to mind is freedom. No one is looking over your shoulder constantly (except the kids), and if you want you can work after the children go to bed, in between college classes, or anything else that comes to mind. However, there are plenty of other benefits most individuals overlook. All you need is a laptop or computer and an Internet connection to get started.
Write offs
This area is extremely important, and if you are truly starting an online business to work from home full time, you definitely want to take advantage of it. Seriously, the Internet bill, electric bill, cell phone bill and even part of your mortgage can be written off each year. Granted there are stipulations for each one, but it definitely adds to that tax return everyone gears up for the following year.
Saving on the Commute
Yes, do you know how much money you spend each year on gas alone? It s utterly ridiculous, and when most of it goes to getting back and forth from work, it can add up quick. We know a lot of work at home individuals who pretend like they would spend it anyways, but instead put it in the savings account. By the end of the year you could see yourself with an extra $800 $1500 just sitting there.
Working When You Want
Yes, we had to acknowledge the freedom at some point right? It s definitely nice to sleep in until 10, grab your laptop and start working before even walking around your house or apartment. However, while freedom is great, you shouldn t take advantage of it to the point where you aren t getting anything done. You will find that it is very easy to go from checking emails to playing around on Facebook for hours at a time.
More Time with Family
There are many couples who utilize a stay at home parent. Obviously this is to take care of the children most of the time, keep the house clean, and run the errands throughout the week. This can cut out a big chunk of the finances, which may cause the working parent to get in tons of overtime. Sometimes it means they are hardly ever home.
The good news is if you can build an online business and supplement the income, your family will be better off. Plus, when the kids are at school or in bed, you can hop on your LAPTOP and do a little work in between. While this still might sound difficult, if you are organized in your life and business and determined to make it happen, everything will fall into place.
Starting Up
While all of this probably sounds great, you have to start somewhere. When you do, don t be sucked in by all the hyped up advertisements you see all over the Internet. Even though they may talk about how you can make $12,000 a month doing something, think about your current situation. If you just need an extra couple hundred bucks a month to pay a few bills, start there. If everything goes well you will progress your income over time.
