You're not just buying a home; you're buying the home and the property as well as the neighbors. Essentially, the whole block and everyone in it comes as a package deal. This includes amenities, school district, crime, community involvement, local families and whatever else you can dig up.

Buying Unseen Property
Virtual tours and the web have made it easy to buy a home without actually setting foot in it. While this might be convenient, it's one of the biggest mistakes you can make when you buy a home. You should always visually inspect a home because simple photos may not reveal water damage termite infestations, crumbling foundations, leaky pipes, bad wiring or roof damage - just to name a few. Problems aside, you just can't get a feel for a home without actually setting foot inside of it.
Finally, while many real estate agents can be trusted, you shouldn't trust most real estate advertisements. They're meant to draw interest and create hype. It's meant to draw attention and make every house sound good - because honestly, you're not likely to buy a home if an advertisement was dead honest and not at all colorful. Base your interests on what you and the inspector see; nothing more.
