I don't know about you, but I've always wanted a tattoo. Body art is such a bold statement of self expression and a true commitment to a thought or idea expressed through living art. For me, the design has to be just perfect to endeavor to take such a gutsy step. That is truly the reason I have procrastinated for years because I just can't make up my mind as to the girly design I could live with for the rest of my life. Or maybe it's because I've seen so many lousy tats in my day, I just couldn't bear it if I ended up like one of those poor sods. It could also be due to the fact that placement it such a huge consideration, I mean really, if one where to get pregnant, a large doodad on the belly might be regretted when it grows to massive proportions and later shrinks to a somewhat shriveled version of its former glory. And then, you've gotta think, 'do I want to see it all the time, or when I'm in a fancy dress should it be easily concealed?'. Overwhelming, I tell you! Maybe I was just chicken, but still at least I'm not the chick, two sheets to the wind, getting Winnie the pooh tattooed on my face.
As in all things I like to do my research, so obviously I started by scouring the internet for my perfect tattoo design. There are so many bad ideas out there and it was hard to find good quality print outs that I could take with me when the day finally arrived. It took me some time but I finally found a fantastic site that had what I wanted. It had wicked designs and excellent quality print outs, as well as pictures of the tattoo design on an actual person which was helpful. A drawing of something is one thing and can look distinctly different inked on skin. Anyway, www.tattoomenow.com had everything I wanted and more, and beyond that I finally had the confidence to go ahead and get my first tattoo.
So I did it! I made a day of it, took my daughters with me and got it done. Even though it took me a while, it was the best decision ever. I don't regret it for a second. You may be wondering what I ended up getting and that's something I'll keep you guessing. Let's just say it's classic, maybe a little girly and in tattoomenow's library somewhere amongst the thousands.
