Pervolia is a picturesque Cypriot village located on the south eastern coast of Cyprus, about 15 kilometres
from the centre of Larnaca.
The economy is here mainly based on agriculture, but tourism is also increased in the area.

Because of its paved village square and attractive architecture, Pervolia became a trendy location for new
housing for permanent residents and for visitors renting a holiday home. This has resulted in an increase
in tourism within the village.

The village has all the necessary facilities for an enjoyable stay: shops, banks, traditional restaurants
and taverns, supermarkets, a sport centre, regular bus service, a beach only 1 km from the centre, other
beaches and several sights to visit at short distance.

Pervolia is an idyllic place where to spend a relaxing family holiday, enjoying the warm hospitality of the
local people.

The village has two beautiful churches to visit: St. Irini, in the centre, and St. Leontis, a small funeral church.

On 5th of May is regularly celebrated the festival of St. Irini, while on 18th of June is organized the festival
of St. Leontis: both events are featured by traditional singing and dancing, and market stalls selling local
products.

Pervolia is suitably placed to reach many of the major towns and cities on Cyprus in a daily trip.

In this area, there are plenty of things to do and trips to go on, depending on what interests of the visitors.

Sights

- The Church of Saint Lazarus: this beautiful church is located in Larnaca and it is the result of a many
renovations over the centuries, having been erected in the ninth century to host the remains of Lazarus,
who was raised from the death by Jesus: the skull and holy relics of Saint Lazarus are contained in a
beautiful reliquary. There is also a small Museum in the Church grounds with a collection of icons and
religious items.

- Ancient Kition: the ruins of the ancient city of Kition are located in the northwest of Larnaca and feature
the remains of five temples dating back to the 13th century BC. Particularly interesting is the Phoenician
Temple of Astarte, built on the ruins of an earlier Bronze Age temple. Also the ruins of the lower part of the
northern city walls are a place to visit.

- The Hala Sultan Tekke: it stands next to the salt lake just south of Larnaca and is one of the first sights
visible heading out of the airport. The Mosque was built around the grave of Umm Haram (Hala Sultan in
the Turkish language) and it is a very important holy place for Muslims. The mosque complex itself was built
in different phases in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. A temple was firstly built by Sheikh Hassan in
AD 1760. Later, the mosque was constructed in its present shape around AD 1816/17.

Beaches

- Faros beach is just off Cape Kiti: it is a small beach with facilities for a relaxing day by the sea. There is a
beach bar and water sports are available, with jet skis and more. The beach also has a sea barrier, which is
ideal for small children to play in the sea. Faros beach is perfect for a quiet day because is not crowded.

- McKenzie Beach is about a 15 minute drive from Pervolia and is ideal for more of a day trip beach visit.
There are shops, bars and restaurants across the promenade and a large municipal car parking away from
the beach. Mckenzie is a flat beach, perfect for families with small children. Water sports are also available
at the end of the beach with jet skis, speed boats, water skiing, and windsurfing. Diving is also a great
experience to do in the area, for the presence of the Zenobia wreck.

- Phinikoudes Beach is the major beach in Larnaca town and it has all the facilities needed. There is a busy
promenade with shops, bars and restaurants, fast foods of all kinds. There are a lot of things to do here
for families: a small fun park for children, arcades, water sports and diving, a marina with various boats for
daily tours.

Amusement Parks

- The camel park at Mazotos is a 20 minute car journey and is a great trip to break up the day. There, it is
possible to feed the camels and see other animals in the small zoo, or enjoy a safari riding a camel. There
is a small museum, a souvenir shop, games room for the children and refreshments around the park. There
are also a farmyard of animals around the "Noah's Ark", some bouncy castles and small rides for younger
children.

- Waterworld Water Park in Agia Napa is the biggest water park in Cyprus. There are several attractions
for the whole family with some hair raising rides for the brave and loads of things for children of all ages,
making it a great day out.

- Fasouri Watermania is another ideal place for families, friends and children to spend a day of fun during a
holiday in Cyprus. The Water Park has a remarkable range of attractions, facilities and services and it offers
a tropical feeling with a Polynesian theme.
