Losing weight.it seems like a daunting task! I know from my own personal experience. There are so many different weight loss programs out there right now that it is very difficult to know what works, what is healthy and what is going to work for you. I truly believe that losing weight is in your mind. Many people do not have much will power. They are not good at being able to deny themselves. I am not talking about starving yourself but I am talking about denying yourself from overeating and eating things that are not good for you.
The biggest thing a person can do to help them lose weight is to educate themselves in the area of nutrition and how the body processes food. Knowledge is power right? Once you figure out that many of the things maybe you even thought were healthy for you are not than you can make better choices when it comes to what you eat. I really think for most people, and I say this because I was like this, they need to learn how to eat and they need to be willing to make the changes necessary.
The first week of any diet, or as I like to say a lifestyle change how you eat, is the hardest. The body and brain need to reset to a new way of eating. The brain and chemical reactions that happen within it are still in tune with how you use to eat and are still craving the bad things (the foods that made me fat) you were eating before. If you can make it through the first week this will allow your brain and body to reset and you should be able to make it the rest of the way.
I decided to cut things out of my diet that I really didn't need. I decided not to eat anything with processed sugar, wheat or dairy for five weeks. Was it tough at times.yes, but not as hard as I thought it would be. If you are committed than it is just a matter of being adventurous and figuring out what you can substitute for the things you are taking out. For instance I decided to eat spelt bread and my wife found a great recipe for cookies that were not made with flour (which comes from wheat) and sugar. By the way they are really good! If you just spend some time researching you will be amazed at the alternatives out there. The other benefits of eating this way for a period of five weeks are incredible. My candida levels went down, I didn't feel so bloated all the time and I felt way better. In addition, I lost fifteen pounds in the five weeks without really even trying.
The other thing is you don't have to eat this way forever, though you might find that you want to! After the five weeks are up you can reintroduce sugar, wheat and dairy back into your diet. Beware, if you go back to how you were eating before expect the same results you got before (gaining weight!) The point is for everything in moderation. Use your common sense and be truthful with yourself. So many people are in denial about what they eat. If eating unhealthy things is more like an addiction for you than get some professional help!
