1. First off, do some basic research on the matters holding you up. As an example, if you're having trouble attracting traffic to your web site, look both online and in your local library for marketing and promotions help. Read books and articles that are geared toward people who are having the same problems you are. The amount of information that you can obtain online and offline will in all likelihood surprise you.
2. Read through the forums. It is uncommon to be the only individual that has ever experienced what you are going through. Dozens, if not hundreds, of people before you have likely had issues with it too. The best place to find out how other Internet marketers have solved your problem is by going to forums. Locate forums that are related to your niche and your particular business. Start a new thread that explains the issues you're having and ask people for assistance. You will be surprised at how many people will offer you advice and hints on how to fix things. For people in IM, the Warrior Forum, in particular, is full of people who are simply waiting to help you get back to your routine.
3. Get hold of an expert. For some reason, particularly in online marketing, people consider those who are at the top of the field as untouchable and unreachable. This couldn't be farther from reality. If there is an individual that you admire or that you are trying to emulate, talk to that person! Write and send an email message that is brief but sweet and courteous that explains who you are, how you admire his or her work and then asks for suggestions on your specific problem. Ensure that your email is courteous and friendly. Ninety percent of the time, you will receive a friendly and professional answer that will help you solve your problem. When you work in online marketing, timidity isn't a desirable trait.
There are places to get help too. Business resource centers and community colleges are good places to get help and advice. Get in touche with an old teacher or professor. Try posting an advertisement online on a board like Craigslist. There are all kinds of ways to obtain the assistance you need so you shouldn't be reluctant to ask for it. Often it will seem like Internet marketing is very lonely and solitary but don't forget that the online marketing community is filled with friendly people who enjoy lending a hand where it is needed.
