1. First, perform some basic research on the things holding you up. For instance, if you're having trouble pulling in traffic to your website, look both online and in your local library for marketing and promotions information. Read books and articles that are geared toward people who are having the same problems you are. The amount of information that you can get both on the internet and off the internet will likely amaze you.

2. Search Online forums. It is uncommon to be the only individual that has ever experienced what you are going through. Dozens, if not hundreds, of people before you have likely had issues with it as well. The best place to find out how others have solved your problem is by going to forums. Try locating forums that are related to your niche and your particular business. Start a new thread that explains the issues you're having and ask people for assistance. You will be surprised at how many people will offer you advice and pointers on how to fix things. For people in IM, the Warrior Forum, in particular, is full of people who are simply waiting to help you get back to your routine.

3. Get hold of an expert. For some reason, especially in online marketing, people consider those who are at the top of the field as untouchable and unreachable. This couldn't be farther from reality. If there is an individual that you admire or that you are trying to emulate, talk to that person! Write and send an email message that is brief but sweet and courteous that explains who you are, how you admire his or her work and then asks for suggestions on your specific problem. Ensure that your email is courteous and friendly. Ninety percent of the time, you will receive a friendly and professional reply that will help you solve your problem. When you work in online marketing, timidity isn't a desirable trait.

You will find many other places to ask for assistance too. You could try your local small business information center or community college. Get in touche with an old teacher or professor. Consider posting an ad online on a board like Craigslist. There are all kinds of ways to obtain the assistance you need so you shouldn't be afraid to ask for it. Remember that while Internet marketing probably seems like an incredibly solitary enterprise, it is also a rich community that is full of amiable people who like helping each other out.
