Wanting to make a google blog though will not be one of your best decisions to make if you are an online marketer or just beginning to embark on your journey to success. If you did not already know, the service called 'Blogger' is owned by Google and is the free service that tens and thousands of people use.
When it comes to marketing online, you should have the freedom and control to say what you want whenever you want and post the links that you want. This is not strictly the case with Google and that is why instead of wanting to make a google blog, you should aim to set up your own self hosted wordpress blog. It will cost you a small amount of money every month in order to have your blog hosted, but the pros of that greatly and I mean greatly, outweigh this single con. Besides, if you are not willing to spend less than $10 on something that is so important, then maybe you need to question your intentions and how badly you want success in this industry.
One reason why you should not make a google blog is because you do not have the freedom to post whatever you want. Google have been coming down pretty hard lately on the online marketing industry and the marketers within that industry. Internet marketers, network marketers, affiliate marketers and any other type of marketers you can think of have in some way been affected. If you post something on your free google blog that Google does not like or approve, they will either give you a warning telling you to remove that content, or they will impose their authority on you and remove that content themselves. It pretty much sucks to be on the receiving end of a Google content clean up.
Another reason why you should not make a google blog and instead go for your own self hosted one, is because of the features and tools available to you. Having a self hosted wordpress blog allows you to have your own set of plugins which can make a huge difference in the Google and online realm. There are some great plugins which can help you in getting ranked in the search engines, plugins that allow you to interact with your readers and build a loyal reader base, plugins that protect your content and much more, all of which you would not have access to if you decided to make a google blog.
The final reason why you should have a wordpress blog is because they look pretty damn good. You have so many themes or appearances to choose from when it comes to creating the face of your blog. You can pick any theme that is unique to you or a theme that you think will show people that your blog is the place to be. Of course the theme isn't the main thing you should think about because that is content, but the appearance of your blog is also important. Again if you decide to make a google blog, you do not have this vast level of freedom and flexibility to suit your personal needs.
At the end of the day, using Google's 'Blogger' service is free yes and because it is Google's own service they may even help you get ranked quicker. But I would rather have a blog that I have full control over and the peace of mind knowing that nobody can remove my content because they don't approve of it. I would rather pay and have a self hosted blog which allows me to design it however I want and brand it however I want without the design being rejected or removed. Like I said earlier, I love Google because of how they have helped me, but I would never make a google blog simply because the cons greatly outweigh the pros and all my hard work could end up getting lost forever in just a matter of seconds or minutes.
