Making a landing page with high conversion rates is something that many online marketers aim to achieve. The main reasons being because it is a great way to build both your list and your business. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, a landing page is a page on your website, an article, your Facebook fan page etc. In other words it is a page that people can visit on the Internet. It is not your website, but a page within your website so try not to get them muddled up. In this article though, I will explain the importance of making a landing page, the two types of pages and how to get high conversion rates.
Why is making a landing page important?
Before I specifically answer that question let's quickly see how a landing page actually works. Again for those that don't know, this is when you place an ad somewhere on the Internet and when people click on that ad, they get re-directed to your landing page. This is a page on your website where you can sign the ad clickers up to your list or business. So do you now see why making a landing page can be crucial in business? There are also two types of these pages you can make and these are review pages and testimonial pages.
How do I go about making a landing page either a review or a testimonial?
This is like creating any other page or post on your blog or website. If you use a Wordpress blog, you would click on either the 'add new' under the post heading, or the 'add new' under the page heading. Making a landing page where you talk about a product or service is a review page and the one where you have a long sales copy promoting a product is a testimonial landing page. However the main idea behind a landing page is that you have the intention of selling something and this is where having the right on page content can play a huge role when it comes to your conversion rates.
Making a landing page gives you a whole load of freedom and allows you to test and track what works in relation to your click through and conversion rates. Wanting a high conversion rate is different when it comes to these two types of landing pages as they are both serve completely different purposes and so you will have to create different content for each type. For example let's kick things off with the review type landing page.
The review landing page has near enough the same popularity as making a landing page that is based around a product testimonial. These review type pages are super effective because people will do research and look for information on a product before deciding to whip your wallet out and enter their card details for the purchase. If you keep your content simple, to the point and factual, chances are more people will purchase through you and they may even begin to visit your site on a regular basis and see what else you have to offer
One way to get a high click through and then conversion rate is by having a strong and relevant header or ad title. Making a landing page is a lot more than just throwing a few words together and sticking it up for people to see. You need to use a header that will capture the reader or the audiences interest. This can easily be done by actually using the keywords that they used to get to your site. The more targeted and relevant your header or ad title is, the higher the chances of people clicking on the ad and checking out your page!
The second type of page is a testimonial one. Making a landing page based around your experiences of a service or product and how you share your story is what will determine your conversion rates. For example the key thing you need to accomplish here in order to get the high conversion rates, is emotionally connecting with your reader and discussing specific topics in relation to the product. You need to write content keeping your reader in mind and answer certain questions such as how will this product benefit them if they were to purchase it? Are there any risks involved? Is there a money back guarantee so people can get a refund if they are not happy with the product? Is the customer service and support any good? And most importantly how has it benefitted you?
All in all, making a landing page can be a good way to build your list, your business and improve your pay per click campaigns if you have any running. The only disadvantage that some people might see with creating these type of pages, is that it will take time to actually write your content and make it good enough that people will click on your link and not somebody else's. If you do see that as a disadvantage then you are definitely in the wrong industry because it takes a hell of a LOT more than just writing one piece of content to succeed on a long term basis.
