Any one person can say they have a square face or an oval face, but when it comes right down to it, there is an exact science in figuring out JUST what type of face you really have. The process is super simple, this is one in which any eyeglass frame manufacturer will most likely use to figure out what frames would or wouldn't be good for you, but this is also one you can do at home on your own as well. Here are the types of faces along with the different points you should be looking at. Also, below is the process in which you can find your type of face which will allow you to pick out the best eyeglass frames for YOUR face frame!

Oval Face: - The dots on your cheekbones are usually going to be farther apart - The dots on the forehead section and jaw are equally spaced - The face is longer than it is wide

Diamond Face: - This is quite similar to that of the oval face, except that the dots on the forehead and jaw are closer together instead of farther apart - The actual face is at more of an angular shape with a small forehead and chin

Round Face: - The dots on the cheeks are farther apart rather than closer together - The dots on the forehead and jaw are also closer together (think circular) - Width and height of the face are usually quite even!

Square Face: - The distance between ALL three sets of dots are equally set apart - The width of the face and the height are equal - The jawline has an angular look to it

Triangular Face: - The dots on the jaw are most likely farther apart - Whereas the dots on the forehead are closer - Usually the face will be more narrow and wider at the cheeks and jawline

Oblong Face: - The distances between all three sections of the dots are usually equal like that of a round face - It's similar to a square face as well, but its noticeably longer than wider.

First off, you will need someone to take a passport-style photograph of you. It's easier if someone else takes one of you instead of you doing it on your own! Next you will need to draw six spots on the outline of your face in photo. Two of these spots will need to be on each side of your forehead. Two more will be placed at your cheekbones - near your eyes. And the last two spots will be at your jawline - at the level of the mouth. For those of you that have done any kind of photography or photo-shopping this probably sounds familiar to you because it's the same process! Once you figure out what kind of a face you have, you can then start picking out discount eyeglass frames!
