It’s said that perfect matches are made in heaven - but a down-to-earth, highly practical ‘business dating’ website called www.WooBiz.co.uk has just been launched, with the idea of bringing business people together in an online environment, where they can exchange ideas, arrange to get together and develop successful business plans. WooBiz is the brainchild of Totnes-based lawyer and web entrepreneur Peter Rouse. “I came across a dating website called www.Woomate.com, which provided a free service for users, except for a small charge made when people actually arranged to meet†says Peter. “I immediately saw WooMate’s potential as a perfect model for a business dating website; one in which people with similar commercial ideas could communicate online, arrange to meet - and make connections that could lead to successful business partnerships.â€
Peter and his business partner, James Furse, have worked with the people behind WooMate to develop WooBiz, and they’re keen to point out the new business website’s emphasis on matching personal values, as well as business interests, experience and capability. “Like any new personal partnership, a new business partnership is based on trust, honesty and shared goals,†says Peter Rouse, “so WooBiz places great emphasis on creating meetings of minds backed by shared principals, morals and beliefs.â€
The new WooBiz website is aimed at a local, regional and national audience - and since Peter Rouse and James Furse both live in Totnes, WooBiz will be launched locally, followed by a roll-out campaign through Devon, the West Country and then the whole of the UK. “Totnes is an excellent place in which to launch WooBiz,†says Peter Rouse. “People in the town are well known for their independent, entrepreneurial spirit - and WooBiz will provide individuals with a great forum for connecting with others who have similar business ideas.â€
WooBiz is aimed at a wide range of people of all ages and backgrounds, from artisans seeking retail outlets for their products to inventors with business ideas looking for financial backers. WooBiz can also act as a springboard for people seeking work opportunities or wishing to employ their skills in new and different ways. “The potential of WooBiz is virtually unlimited,†says Peter Rouse, “so we’re anticipating rapid acquisition of a wide range of different members. We’re especially looking forward to seeing new and successful partnerships emerge as a result of WooBiz’s ability to help people find the perfect business match!â€
