Interactive learning is when we interact to a learning platform. This learning platform could be anything which the programmers have designed the program to run on but generally is on an interactive running device like a TV, Computer and Tablet. When we say interactive learning, this is the teaching via interactive technologies which allows one to, move objects contained in the program, blowing into a microphone or even talking to the interactive technology. It is whatever the programmer makes it to be but those programmers can only make it be something if the technology is available to accommodate it.
An example of interactive learning would be; me moving a banana from a tree, unpeeling it and then giving it to a friend. The interactive part doesn't need to shout out why you're doing this, you'll do this because the program has told you to do this. So you ask what have you learned, you just took a banana from a tree and unpeeled it, well exactly.
1. Bananas come from trees.
2. You have to unpeel them.
3. There yellow.
You can do this with the current methodology to how we teach children education but how interested you can keep them is another thing. Gamification is a way to keep children engaged to interactive learning, something which is a lot harder to achieve whenever you put the current learning methodology in. Interactive learning and gamification works extremely well together.
You are more likely to see a child be more interested in interactive learning today because of the interactive technologies which are available for the children to use. Years ago we had the book but no smart phones or any interactive technologies. Now we have tablets, interactive TVs, smart phones and cheap PC's. It's not that the book is a bad platform for learning, it's just we have better ways to learn now which are more engaging.
Children will play 21,000 hours of games before they are 21 so children have taken consoles and computers games from once was a secondary form of entertainment their first choice of entertainment.
For this reason, giving a child a tablet to use, will keep them entertained as it's a platform they associate with fun and it's more interactive versus a pencil. For this reason, you can easily create an interactive game which instructs a child to create a farm, to maintain that farm and to expand that farm, against their friends and family. There interactively learning whilst playing the game and the more and more they play the game, the more they learn.
Interactive learning is no doubt the way to go and with the amount of interactive technologies which are in the market today, interactive technology and interactive learning together with gamfication is going to change the way we learn how to do our learning and learn how to do things.
