There are a large amount of stages and processes involved in service design before any new product is launched into the market. This concept offers plenty of benefits both to the customer as well as the service supplier. While the client is assured trusty, usable, desirable and fast service, the provider gets sufficient profits, long term success and client satisfaction in turn.

The above all step in the service design process is research. Intensive research at multiple levels is necessary before any new service or product is launched. Reports developed after insightful research helps the supplier to understand the wants of the customer and also the kind of service that is currently available in the market. Exploratory research systems are used to grasp the present situation and get a deeper experience of the customers, their needs and expectations. The step after that is generative research in which the focus is on exercises and activities which will show how to make a response to the conclusions of exploratory research. The final leg is evaluative research which helps to validate whether the service or recommendations designed basically meets the requirement of the customer or end user.

Product or service development process can be specified into 4 stages beginning with design, research, development and then market introduction. Each one of these is connected and can be said to be a feedback loop. The design process can involve both product and service design in equal measures and is put forward as a plan, physical model, prototype or business plan. While designing a physical product, multiple characteristics and facets of the product is believed to make it efficient and effective. And while designing a service, the new idea is put forward thru creative and significant representations. Usually both fuzzy and procedural approach is used during planning ; in the fuzzy approach, the signification is on the concept. The corporate management are asked to come up with creative, genuine, unique and scientifically advanced ideas that may be implemented either into the product or the service. In the procedural approach, a rather more methodological way of planning is employed and the product or service is looked into with more detail.

There are several tools that are employed in this process ; with physical elements, interactions with folk are also a crucial part during development. Occasionally, only an upswing in the existing service will be taken up which require a deeper experience of the current service, its strengths and weaknesses and the customers' opinion got in the shape of feedback and surveys.

The successfulness of any service experience depends mostly on an integrated service design program which has been implemented easily into the procedure. Creating a service blueprint allows the organization to think about intently all the issues and factors inherent in managing the actual service. The first step is to research and identify the puny points in the service, then make a time frame to make the necessary changes and the final step is to analyze the user reaction and profitability of the service.
