What do you do if you want to get rich on the Internet but don’t have the funds to back a major marketing campaign?
As I observed in my previous article, fixing a limit to your a marketing budget should be one of your first priorities. The three essentials for a credible website are a professional domain name, web site hosting, and a reputable auto responder service. Put these at the top of your marketing budget. Maybe after you have allocated some cash for those expenses, you find you have little left for marketing your web site. Don’t worry, because even if you only have a dollar a day to spend, spend it wisely and you will be able to build up your business. It may not be a lot, but working with a fixed budget of thirty dollars a month makes much more sense than splurging money that you can’t really afford.
1. Upgrade your membership on a couple of traffic exchange sites. Traffic exchanges (TEs) are an excellent resource for marketing a Internet site on a low budget. Find some good traffic exchanges that makes special offers for you to upgrade to pro membership and where you’ll get several hundred page viewing, banner and text ad credits and an improved surfing ratio. With an pro membership on traffic exchanges, you can generate enough credits to get your web pages viewed several thousand times a month by other traffic exchange surfers. Most of the traffic exchanges offer you a special “one time only” (OTO) deal straight after you sign up as a free member. Learn to recognise the ones that are good value. Only buy into them if you still have some cash to spare from your monthly budget. You can often skip the first offer and be offered a second, cheaper package. Some, but not all, TEs follow up with these second and even third OTOs, each one cheaper than the last.
2. Join InfoGoRound.com. InfoGoRound is a Private Label Rights (PLR) article publisher. Members pay $24.95 a month, which is a large chunk out of a $30 a month marketing budget, but the good news is that you can get your money back by contributing an article to their database. Each month that one of your articles is accepted, you get 100% of your money back. It takes a couple of months to receive your cash, and it is deposited in your PayPal account. This effectively gives you free access to an extensive compendium of PLR articles that you can alter and post on your blog or web site. So now you have leveraged your $30 and still have it to play with..
3. Write and distribute articles. Article writing is considered to be an effective method of promoting your web site and attracting targeted visitors. You can use isnare.com to publish your articles to umpteen article directories. It only costs a couple of dollars for each article you write to be distributed, which makes it one of the cheaper article distribution services on the Internet.
4. Automate directory submissions. You can submit your Internet site to site directories manually, but it is a dull, boring job and and you would be better off using your time more productively by writing original articles for your Internet site and blog. But building back links to your website is an important operation, so you might want to consider investing in a directory submission service and use it to submit your web site. It can be done even on a shoestring budget. For example, with a company such as DirectoryMaximizer.com,$5 is all you need to spend to have your website registered on thirty five directories.
As you can see, there’s a lot you can do to market your site on a micro budget. Of course, you won’t be able to do as much as you’d like to do each month. You will have to focus on one or two tasks each month. As your business begins to bring in sales, plough as much as you can of your profits back into those promotional projects that have brought you most sales. If you do that, your marketing budget will grow with your business and grow more effective as your business develops.
