Latent Semantic Indexing is also known as LSI. Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI is also another name for part of the process that Google uses in searching for key words and then bringing up articles or a certain website as a result of your keyword search. Google uses latent semantic indexing or LSI as part of everything that Google does.

Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI is a mathematical analysis or query that is set up to search and find terms from any website. Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI is a huge part of Internet Marketing techniques. Other terms that are connected to Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI are: document matrix, term document, singular value, search engines, value decomposition, indexing LSI, articles, website, marketing, Internet Marketing, key word, query, analysis, SEO, Google, words and terms.

Another part of how Google finds similar articles and website(s) that go with your key word search is the singular value decomposition also known as SVD. The singular value decomposition or SVD is also a mathematical analysis done by a type of query which analyzes the patterns and relationships between word(s) in an article or website. Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI has more to do with the how word search works in identifying a word within a certain context that has a similar context in another website or article.

Latent Semantic Indexing was invented by someone named Jean Paul Benzecri. Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI was developed in the nineteen-seventies. The first development of latent semantic indexing and singular value decomposition was based on an analysis of a query or table and the word count within a document matrix.

Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI got its name from the ability that LSI has to connect related word(s) within a document matrix. Bell Laboratories was the first place that Latent Semantic Indexing. This first application of latent semantic indexing or LSI was accomplished in the nineteen-eighties.

There is also another term associated with and very near to Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI and that is the term Latent Semantic-Analysis also known as LSA. This type of analysis works more with the meaning of a word within a text. Latent Semantic-Analysis or LSA is also commonly known as a "concept-search". A query is another example of a latent semantic-analysis which is very similar to Latent Semantic Indexing.

One difference between Latent Semantic-Analysis or LSA and Latent Semantic Indexing is that LSI must be performed first, then a Latent Semantic-Analysis will be performed in a word search or query analysis.

So, LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing, as I understand it is the actual search for the word and the Latent Semantic-Analysis or LSA is the search for the meaning of the word. And so LSA is a search that goes into a little more depth than the LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing.

However it all works, Latent Semantic Indexing is very important to whether your website comes at the top of Google's word search or if your website comes in very last or somewhere in the middle. Everyone knows that having your website at the top of a Google search is one of the best marketing tactics when it comes to internet marketing. For customers to be able to find your website, they have to see it and finding someone who understands Latent Semantic Indexing can help your website come up first!
