Using the effectiveness of its product marketing, Apple offers us the Apple iPad 2. Before all the buzz from the first iPad could die down, iPad 2 is released, and many people are wondering what has changed. Whether you are planning to upgrade from the original iPad or planning on just getting the iPad2, this review will go over some of this products main features.
Battery life is a serious factor in any kind of portable device because there may not always be an electrical outlet available where you want to use the device. Aside from this, one of the pleasures of owning something like an iPad is not having to bother with plugging it into the wall if you don't feel like it. The original iPad has an impressive battery life of about 10 hours which is very nice considering all you can do on it. The iPad 2, which has additional RAM and added features, such as a camera, gives you about the same amount of battery life, a bit longer according to some tests. If you need to go on a long plane ride or want to watch a few videos without plugging in your iPad, this is certainly convenient. The Apple iPad 2, iPhone, and iPod touch all use the same iOS 4 operating system. There are a large number of apps that are designed to work with this very popular and capable operating system for portable devices. There are over 90,000 apps that work on the iPad as well as most of the other Apple devices as well. You have the ability to use iMovie to edit videos or read books with iBooks. For reading digital books, you can get the Kindle app for your iPad which eliminates the need for a Kindle device.
A major complaint about the original iPad was that it didn't have a camera. The iPad2 now offers two cameras, one in the front and one in the back. Unfortunately, this still may not satisfy many users, as these cameras are not very high quality. The cameras are useful for taking basic shots or for talking to your friends with FaceTime, but don't expect to be able to take high quality photos or videos. Most mobile phones have cameras and the serious photographer will probably already own cameras anyway, so this might not be that serious of a problem. Nobody truly needs the iPad 2 to survive but it will offer you plenty of hours of fun and amusement. For this reason, it makes a great gift, as it's something anyone who loves gadgets will appreciate. On the other hand it is important to understand that the iPad isn't meant as replacement technology for things like your computer, your phone or your camera.
