Many of us come on the net looking for beats for sale, and have this idea that the producers are here for us. Wrong. They are here for themselves. They are on the internet to manufacture because much cash as they can off of us. That's it. Most of them don't care anything about their customers. There are many "under-the-table" dealings going on over the internet. There are few genuine producers that are selling beats on-line. Of course though, if you hear a track you like, you pay for it and go on about your day. Just don't expect too much more than that. It may look nice and customer-friendly through the internet, but some of these producers are snakes behind computers.
1 specific case I can tell you about is when I made an exclusive purchase from a producer (I won't name virtually any names). As you know, when you make an exclusive buy, you should be the only one with the track. However, a whole month after I bought the beat, it was still up on the website being leased. I didn't notice until I went back on the web site a month later and checked. After I explained to the producer that I bought the exclusive rights to the track, he took it down. To make matters worse, I hear that same instrumental on the radio as I'm traveling. The song was being debuted as the writers and singers single. I was heated at this point because I paid for $1,000 for the exclusive rights to this track. When I confronted the producer about this, he said that he forgot someone bought the exclusive rights before I did. I am currently in the middle of a lawsuit over this to get my revenue back.
That story just goes to show that these producers aren't out here to manufacture friends and superior music, while conducting decent business. All they need is income. I've personally heard of other similar stories, but none worse than mine. Anyway, this is all bad business. Producers advertise their beats for sale just to manufacture money. They could care less about us artists. Beware of whom you do business with in this crooked industry. Make sure the producer you do work with is not only an useful producer, but a genuine person.
