Plot of Arrested Development Season 1
George Bluth Senior, the head of the Bluth Family, is the founder and CEO Bluth Company that builds and markets Mini-Mansions of inferiour quality. His son Michael is the manager in the company and is of course once again passed over for promotion when his father decides instead promote Lucille Bluth, the mom, the brand new CEO of the company. After the promotion is made, Michael finally has enough and decides to go out of both the company along with the family with his son George Michael. Before he's got time to do so, the SEC comes to the boat and apprehends George Senior for defrauding investors. Lucille is CEO and names the youngest and very immature son Buster to become the manager. Busters only experience with business is a course he once took in eighteenth century agrarian business, but he still decides to attempt the job.
Michael is furious in the development (Arrested Development even) so he accepts a new job at a rival hosing company, the Sitwell Housingcompany. The family finally understands that they can't run the organization without Michael and begs him to come back to operate the Bluth Company once more. Michael remains very upset and doesn't want to stay, until he sees how much the family means to his son George Michael. As Michael wants the family to stay together, he finally asks his sister Lindsay, her former doctor husband Tobias (a Never Nude, meaning he never takes all his clothes off, he showers in cut off jeans) along with their cute daughter Maeby to live with them in the model house with him and his son.
The rest of Arrested Development Season 1
The characters struggle to become better people. Buster attempts to finally get rid of his over bearing mother Lucille spending more time with his brothers and having an affair with Lucille Austero (also known as Lucille 2), Lucille Bluth's next door neighbour and biggest social rival. George Michael is really in love with his cousin Maeby and tries to tounge dance with her through the whole season as well as the rest of the series. He also tries his best being a good son to Michael and often he tries too hard, forgetting to be a child. Tobias who was simply a psychiatrist (or as he refers to during one episode, "an Analrapist, a variety of Analyst and Therapist") but lost his licens following an unfortunate attempt to resuscitate a sleeping man and instead makes up his mind to become an actor. He tries to get the aid of Carl Weather to satisfy his fantasy but only manages to make a fool of himself, all over again.
Michael becomes crazy about the girlfriend of his brother Gob, Marta, who treats her bad every day. He finds it hard to choose between the easy-on-the-eyes Marta and being a good brother. The brothers starts to fight when Gob finds out that Michael has a crush on his girlfriend and after having seen the brothers fight Marta makes up her mind to break up with them both because they don't share the identical family values. Trying to make Buster jealous, Lucille adopts a Korean boy that she "ordered" when mad one day. She thinks his name is "Annyong", the Korean word for "Hello" since that's what he says when people speak to him. Gob marries a woman he just met after a series of escalating dares but doesn't get an annulment since he won't admit they didn't consumate the marriage
Kitty, George Senior's former assistant and mistress, blackmails the corporation but luckily not very successfully so. When Gob does an illusion and sinks the family yacht, Kitty is trapped in the blast and gets away with having a cooler of evidence labled "H Maddas". George Senior attempts to get out of prison, where he converted to Judaism, most of Arrested Development Season 1 last but not least succeeds by faking cardiac arrest. George admits to Michael in Arrested Development Season 1 that maybe, just maybe, he committed "light treason" when he sold mini-palaces to Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
