The existence of Carpal tunnel indicators may not at all times confirm that you are suffering from the condition. There are symptoms that are worth a closer look to avoid the possibility of a misdiagnosis. Carpal CTS, a common healthy problem involving the wrist and several fingers of the hands is caused when the median nerve within the carpal tunnel is pressed or constricted because of swelling or inflammation.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome can produce major debilitating effects on the hands. It can be devastating as the hands are extremely essential in carrying out all of our daily tasks. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome indicators can be manifestations of some other disorder so, it is very important that the symptoms are properly recognized. Knowing the CTS indicators and those of other forms of injuries is important so the symptoms aren't accidently labeled as CTS.

What are the Carpal tunnel indicators?
The median nerve, located in the wrist of the hands, sends sensations and signals to the fingers, especially the thumb, index and the middle finger. When the nerve is compressed, the individual would feel symptoms such as:
- Numbness
- Pain
- Weakness
- Burning and tingling sensations of the thumb, index and middle finger.

At earlier stages, when the symptoms do not present serious worries, the disorder is usually disregarded. However, during its late stages, the signs and symptoms can become extreme and the discomforts would usually make the person seek advice from a specialist.

The indicators and other disorders that can be confused as Carpal tunnel - weak spots in the hands, numbness and tingling sensations in the fingers can be incorrectly diagnosed asCarpal Tunnel Syndrome. These signs can also be signs of other disorders that concern the hands, fingers and nerves.

Several signs of Raynaud's disease, a disorder that deals with narrowed or tightened arteries of the hands due to smoking, can be misdiagnosed as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. However, there are major variations of CTS from Raynaud's disease. In Raynaud's disease, all the fingers are affected while in CTS, the symptoms are confined in the thumb, index and center fingers. Additionally, in Raynaud's disease, the fingers turn white or blue due to poor blood vessel circulation. Whereas in CTS this symptom is not present.

Guillain-Barre Syndrome or GBS, a degenerative disorder of the peripheral nervous system, may also be characterized by numbness, weak points and tingling sensations of the hands and is often-times mistaken as CTS. But then, the weakness felt by the person who has GBS progresses throughout the body while the weak spots felt by the person with CTS is confined on the hand and possibly the shoulders.

Arthritis causing pain at the bottom of the thumb may also cause these signs. Although CTS can be induced by arthritis, an important point to make isthat arthritis is not misdiagnosed with Carpal tunnel due to the fact arthritis of the thumb or hands requires a different medical remedy.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and the other disorders that affect the hands and fingers, really should not be taken for granted. When one feels any of the signs or symptoms, seeking medical advice is very encouraged.
