Protein is important for growth and to sustain suitable energy levels keeping you healthy and active. Similarly calcium is essential for bones and teeth. Consume fruits like oranges and tangerines, low fat yogurt, cheddar cheese and soya milk that are rich source of protein and calcium.
Iron is another nutrition that teens need to consume in richer amounts. It helps blood replenishment and keeps the body functioning actively. Shell fish, mussels, liver, whole grain and spinach are good sources of iron. Its deficiency can cause anaemia and other related problems.
Dieting and weight loss is all about losing fat. No doubt fat is an important energy source, but when it is taken in excess amounts, it can cause obesity. Trans and saturated fats should be avoided. However, you can consume small quantities of food with unsaturated fats like olive, corn oil, almond or peanuts, Solomon and trout.
